Friday I'm in love...
I really love running! It shocks me sometimes because I've always completely hated it, especially in junior high when we were forced to do those stupid fun runs. I am doing a free 5K up at the Hill AFB next Saturday (German is very excited to show the girls all the neat planes). There is also a one mile race for kids and all you have to do is bring canned food. I can't wait to take the girls to some of the fun little races in a few years. I also signed up for the Winter Sun 10K down in Moab on Dec 6th and I convinced German to do it with me. I am hoping I can train enough to at least keep up with him for a little while. Last week he decided to see how fast he could run a mile, just for fun. He hasn't been exercising very much lately at all, but he finished in 6:40. I really wish I was as naturally athletic as him. Gosh, I love him, too!

My big brother the ROCKSTAR!
My brother has been into music ever since I can remember. He formed his own band in high school and played the guitar and was the lead singer. Throughout life he's tried other avenues to make a living, but music is his passion. He isn't truly happy doing anything else, so for the best few years he's been producing music and getting some great experience. He lived in L.A. and witnessed some friends of his make it big (i.e. One Republic & Colbie Caillat). So now, at 36 years old, he has just finished working on his first album. He found some talented artists to form the band JUNENINE. He plays the lead guitar and wrote all the music & helped with lyrics. His music style is soulful and chill--AND IT ROCKS! The lead singer has an amazing voice AND I think he's pretty cute! Check out the JUNENINE myspace page to hear two of the songs or send the text to get a free download of an awesome song! The 5 song EP album will be out sometime in October. Oh and bytheway, my brother is the one in the cap...OR you can also download the song here.

Friday I'm in love...
I'm in love with my girls. If one is laying on her tummy or back then the other one likes to plop right on top. It makes for some great giggles as they struggle to get free (and sometimes a not so great cry). Usually, Lucy does the plopping on top of Audrey, but I have seen Audrey do it to Lucy a few times. They've been doing it alot today and I love it. They also wake up from naps giggling at each other across the room. I guess everything is just so funny when you're a baby.

Audrey always starts bouncing when we put some music on and if she is standing, she will bounce and tap her foot. Lucy kind of headbangs and twists around--she's a bit crazier.
These are a couple videos of Lucy finding the soft pink part of her blankie. We just noticed her doing this a couple of weeks ago when it took her awhile of flipping it around and around until she finally found it. We think it is pretty cute how she searches for it.

I love babies...
I love all babies, but of course I especially love our babies. I love watching them play with German. When he is around I am pretty much invisible, to which I pretend to be offended, but secretly I actually LOVE it (I like having a bit of a break). They are so active and curious...it is amazing to witness their little brains processing so much information. Lucy has taken a few steps here and there. She is nowhere near mastering it and who knows when I'll get it on video. But you can be sure when I do, it will go on here! They are soo much fun, I love them lots and lots!

My 'For a healthier me...' blog is back!
I did a post about my favorite songs to run to and I'm looking for some more good stuff. Especially since I now need at least 2.5 hours of running music. Click on over and tell me what your favorite exercise song is. Thanks!

10K race results and pictures
The results are posted and my official time was 1:17:58. I really need to work on my speed...but hey I finished and I'm not too sore. My sister and mom came to cheer me on and take pics. They even brought me flowers and balloons--thanks! The girls were napping, so German arrived with them shortly after I finished. I've really gotten the race bug and can't wait until the next one!

My 100th POST--the 10K is over!
I finished the 10K this morning and I'm pooped, so I'll post pictures later. I didn't get my exact time yet, but it was about 1 hour 16 minutes. It was fun and I saw an old Wyview/bloggy friend Melissa Zuber--she wasted me, though! I almost made my goal of 75 minutes, but oh well, I think I did OK considering I only started running about 7 weeks ago. I'm really happy about it (I was worried it would take me an hour and half)! There were some very slight uphill spots that killed me, so I am going to work on that. I think I'll do another 10K or two to prep for the Canyonlands Half Marathon in Moab on March 21st, 2009. German says he's going to do it with me, the scenery looks amazing!

My vanished health blog...
So my health blog disappeared and I was freaking out until I read the following info. Luckily, it is not gone forever, but it won't be up and running again for a couple of days (in case anyone cares). I thought I'd share this with all of you in case someday one of your blogs disappear and you don't know why. They give you a 20 day grace period to respond and then they will bring it back to life. Which is a good thing because I've put alot of work into that stinkin' blog!
"Why is my blog disabled?"
"If your blog is disabled, it will be listed on your Dashboard, but you will not be able to click on it to access it. If this is the case, there will be a grace period during which you can request that it be reviewed and recovered. The disabling is a result of our automated classification system marking it as spam. Because this system is automated there will necessarily be some false positives, though we're continually working on improving our algorithms to avoid these. If your blog is not a spam blog, then it was one of the false positives, and we apologize."
Well, at least they apologize...dumb algorithms thinking my blog is spam. How rude!

Tuesday twin tidbit
Uncle Spencer and aunt Amy were kind enough to take the family to Jackson Hole last weekend. It was our first vacation with the girls and while we were anxious about the whole road trip the girls did great and we had a blast!!! The best part was rafting down the Snake River with Troy, Rebecca, Nate, Sam and the infamous Captain Ron. Here's a fun pic, hopefully this link works...Thanks again Amy and Spencer for planning a fun trip and getting us a sweet room!
There was this one incident I had with the girls during our last morning there. Sara was excercising and I was left in the cabin with them for an hour. I thought I would dress them and get them ready for the day, so we could check out when mom came back. However, while attempting to dress Audrey (she was being extra squirmy for me) I decided to distract her by giving her the first thing within my reach. It just so happened that it was a half-full formula canister. It distracted her quite well, especially after she managed to pry the lid open and spill the remnants all over herself, the bed, the floor, etc. There was formula everywhere! I think what finally made me react and snap out of my "did I really give her the can of formula and did it really spill all over the place" moment was seeing Audrey lick the formula from her face with her tongue. Never a dull moment with these two.
Also, last week my mom (Abuela Betty) came for a visit. It was fun to see her spend one-on-one time with the girls and they had lots of fun with her. She helped with babysitting, cleaning, and cooked several excellent meals. Thanks abuela!

My new blog "For a healthier me..."
I started another blog (thanks to Lori), so I can keep track of my exercise and food intake. Feel free to give me any ideas, inspirational thoughts or whatever--I'm going to need all the help I can get! Today I ate way too much...why does fattening food have to taste so YUMMY!

10K here I come...
My friend Kristi had a baby just 3 weeks after my twins were born and she ran a half marathon last weekend. She's really inspired me to get moving. I searched all weekend for the perfect 10K to run and I've found it. It's put on be Wasatch Woman and it's called 'LOVE YOUR BODY!' It is held on the UofU campus AND it is only for women. I am by no means a runner, but I starting running last month in the morning before German leaves for work and it's been such a great way to start the day. I'll have to see what my goal time will be after a few practice runs, so I'll post that later. If anyone wants to join me let me know! It's a run/walk race and you can do a 5K or a 10K. Click here for more info...Tuesday, August 05, 2008

10 things I'll miss about Kiersta as a neighbor...
1- Her cooking & recipe swapping
2- Borrowing whatever whenever
3- Sitting by her at church
4- Chatting on the front lawn
5- Exercising together
6- Seeing her pretty hair
7- Hanging out late while listening to the girls on the monitor
8- Letting her try the food I make to get feedback
9- Her amazing Sunday school lessons
10- Being able to learn from her example...she is such a great mom & friend!
This is what I made to eat tonight as a tribute to her. Kiersta introduced me to the wonderful world of REAL freshly whipped cream. She gave us all the yummy food from her fridge/cupboards and told me how she loved these frozen cherries from Trader Joes with whip cream. So, I had to try it out! Thanks for everything Bailey Family, we miss you already...
