Tuesday twin tidbit

Thursday Lucy and Audrey got to meet some old friends from our Wyview days. Man, we loved living in that area and making such amazing lifelong friends! We said farewell to the Qian Family who leave for their big China adventure today. Best wishes William & Lori...keep us updated. Next year we'll have to plan a BIG Wyview reunion for everyone!

As much as I love our little baby girls, last week was very rejuvenating for me. It's funny how as a new mom I felt guilty being away and for enjoying myself so much. I went out with friends a few times and then left for a fun slumber party on another night. I guess it just surprised me because I thought I'd never want to be away from them. Actually, I think it's not so much that I wanted to be away, but that I needed it. It helped me remember who I was before becoming a mom and how much I now need to find a healthy balance. Any of you veteran moms understand what I'm talking about or am I alone on this? Anyway, thanks for all the fun times girls!

Hey Sara, sorry we didn't make it to the barbecue. We were planning on coming but I didn't feel good at all that day and kept hoping to feel better in the afternoon so we could go but it didn't happen. I also was going to send you a message sooner, but that didn't happen either. I hear you loud and clear about needing to get away. Sometimes my friend Brooke and I go grocery shopping or something really simple after the kids go to bed. Not much, but it's time away to be adults.

Are you kidding?? If I didn't have a little time away from my kids once in a while, I think I would be a HORRIBLE mom. I would just get so burnt out and frustrated. Plus, it is nice to feel like "Lisa" sometimes- not just "Mommy".

I'm glad you start doing this now, and that you had a great time being a friend again. Is healthy for you too!

Finding your balance as Mom and "the person you were before" is the hardest thing to do as a first-time parent. It does become easier as you just give yourself days to go out and DO (doesn't matter what... grocery shopping was heaven the first time I went without Abby). Having a great husband to support you helps... so you're all set up... NIX on the feeling guilty and enjoy your "me" time!

It was so wonderful to see you and get to know you more. I can't wait to see you next year. I was really grateful for the girl time, too, and we all know what you mean about needing "you" time. We love being mothers, yes, but we do need to remember ourselves so that we can be happy and have something to give to others! I loved seeing you, sara!

That sounds like SO much fun! I am so glad that you were able to have some "girl" time with old friends from Wyview. It is fun seeing those pictures of familiar faces!! We really did love that time. Wyview was such a fun experience for us.
